A delight for the palateThe extensive breakfast buffet at the HYPERION Hotel Leipzig guarantees a good start to the day. There is a large selection of delicious options to choose from - whether you like your first meal of the day sweet or savory, cold or warm, you can enjoy a delicious meal later in the day in the hotel's own Gaumenfreund restaurant, which seats 160 guests. The menu includes seasonal dishes as well as selected international dishes and numerous wines. A special feature of the restaurant is the front cooking area, where you can also make yourself comfortable in the lounge bar of the HYPERION Hotel Leipzig and enjoy a fruity cocktail, a cool blonde or one of the many other drink specialties in the hotel bar until late at night. Snacks and other daily specials are also served in the lounge bar when you get hungry.

Right next to the train station and city centerThe new Hyperion Hotel Leipzig is located right next to the city center, known for its cultural and music scene, directly on the east side of Leipzig's main train station. The station - itself already a landmark - offers optimal connections to the trade fair or to the Red Bull Arena Leipzig, Leipzig's stadium. In addition to the elegant hotel complex, the completely redesigned area between the station and Brandenburger Strasse also includes the new long-distance bus terminal as well as a pedestrian passage and "Flanier Plaza". The direct proximity to the main train station is also ideal for all city travelers who would like to reach the sights, restaurants and theaters in the city center on foot, and within five minutes you can walk from the Hyperion Hotel Leipzig to Augustusplatz. With an area of around 40,000 square meters, it is one of the largest squares in Germany. Surrounded by the opera house, which opened in 1960, the Gewandhaus, inaugurated in 1981 under the direction of Kurt Masur, and the impressive university buildings - the almost hundred-meter-high "Weisheitszahn" and the modern glass building reminiscent of the Gothic Paulinerkirche, which was demolished in 1968 - the square impresses with its cultural flair. Take a seat on a bench by the historic Mendebrunnen fountain or go in search of the "golden egg", the democracy bell that commemorates the Monday demonstrations of 1989, before strolling from Augustusplatz along Grimmaische Straße to Mädler-Passage. Flanked by the bronze statues of Mephisto, Faust and the students, the entrance to the Auerbachs Keller restaurant is located in the Art Nouveau passage. The Leipzig student Johann Wolfgang von Goethe himself enjoyed sitting here and created a literary monument to the wine cellar in his "Faust". The restaurant is divided into the four historic wine taverns and the large cellar built in 1912. If you come here directly from the Hyperion Hotel Leipzig, it will take you a good ten minutes on foot, and the Thomaskirche is just a few minutes' walk away. It is the former workplace of Johann Sebastian Bach and home to the internationally famous St. Thomas Choir. The church, which has been rebuilt several times in its history, was consecrated in 1496 and is characterized from the outside by its Renaissance tower. There is a Bach memorial in front of the entrance, which is a popular photo motif. You can regularly listen to the St. Thomas Choir, which was founded in 1212, at the weekly motets on Fridays and Saturdays. It takes around 15 minutes to walk here from the Hyperion Hotel Leipzig, while the Grassi Museum is also just under a quarter of an hour's walk from the Hyperion Hotel Leipzig. In 1880, the merchant Franz Dominic Grassi bequeathed his fortune to the city of Leipzig, which had the museum built between 1925 and 1929 in the New Objectivity and Art Deco style. Today it houses the Museum of Applied Arts, the Museum of Ethnology and the Museum of Musical Instruments. For a break between exhibitions, the museum café or a tour of the Old St. John's Cemetery behind the museum is a good idea.If you are in Leipzig for more than one night, it is also worth visiting the Monument to the Battle of the Nations. The monumental building was inaugurated on October 18, 1913 to mark the centenary of the Battle of the Nations near Leipzig. With a height of 91 meters, it is one of the tallest monuments in Europe. There are 500 steps to the viewing platform, some of which lead around the dome as a narrow staircase. You can also take the elevator to the middle platform. The Hall of Fame and the museum are also worth a visit. It takes about 15 minutes by car from the Hyperion Hotel Leipzig in the city center. The S-Bahn journey from the station takes ten minutes.
