Where grain was once stored to supply the entire city of Schwerin with bread, the air is now filled with the aroma of fresh rolls. Behind the “Speicher am Ziegelsee” lies a historic, landmark-protected grain silo dating back to 1939, which we painstakingly converted into a unique, first-class hotel in 1998. Since 2010, our hotel has been operated in a completely climate-neutral manner. In 2017, we were recognized as the first climate-positive hotel in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. This makes us the first hotel to sequester more CO2 through climate protection projects than we actually produce in our operations.

The best way to prepare for a massage is to relax in the sauna. Here, you can choose between a spacious wellness sauna (90–95 °C), a sanarium (75 °C), or an infrared cabin. To cool off, you’ll find a Kneipp shower, a waterfall shower, and a private shower, as well as various relaxation areas with a tea kitchen. Our tip: After your sauna session, you can refresh yourself with a dip in the lake. If you prefer a more private and exclusive experience, you can rent our PRIVATE SPA. Since we know how important a restful night’s sleep is to our guests, we’ve chosen manufacturers with the best track records. For example, we source our feather and down comforters and pillows from Mühldorfer in Lower Bavaria. It’s no coincidence that the world’s best hotels buy from them. In addition, we provide hypoallergenic bedding upon request, and you can choose from a selection of specialty pillows and neck rolls. Some rooms feature extra-long beds (210 cm) or twin beds. Some rooms are spacious enough to accommodate guests in wheelchairs. We’ve eliminated minibars to reduce our carbon footprint; instead, we offer 24-hour room service (hot meals available until 10:00 p.m.) featuring snacks, beverages, and sweets.
