Among them are Erich Maria Remarque, one of the most widely read authors of the 20th century, and Friedrich Vordem-Berge Gildewart, one of the co-founders of Constructivism. The Felix Nussbaum House houses the world’s most comprehensive collection of works by the Osnabrück-born painter. The museum itself is also impressive, having been built according to designs by the famous architect Daniel Libeskind. Right now, Osnabrück native Robin Schulz is providing the perfect sound in the world’s best clubs. Eat like the locals. The original Osnabrück Springbrötchen are always worth indulging in, as are Hedeweggen—a type of raisin roll. If you’re watching your weight, try the local black bread, also known as pumpernickel. Hearty dishes include the turnip stew called “Ramanken” or, especially in winter, a meal of kale. To top it all off, don’t miss a praline from the Leysieffer flagship store on Krahnstrasse. Take a stroll through the Old Town. The market square is the heart and hub of the city. Here, you’ll find the historic town hall, the city weigh house, and St. Mary’s Church on one side, and colorful townhouses with stepped gables on the other. In addition to the Christmas market, the May Week festival and the annual hobbyhorse riding event commemorating the anniversary of the Peace of Westphalia also take place there. Stroll and browse through the many unique shops. Once a week, the weekly market is held on Große Domfreiheit, featuring many regional and seasonal products.

TRAVELING BY CAR
From the south (Münster, Ruhr region): Take the A 1 highway to the Lotte interchange, then merge onto the A 30 toward Osnabrück. Take the Hasbergen/Gaste exit and continue straight ahead: first on Rheiner Landstraße, which then becomes Lotter Straße at a bend in the road. When you reach the Einhorn Pharmacy (Lotter Str. 5), turn left onto Bergstraße and follow the signs toward “Parkgarage Stadthaus.” About 30 meters after the turn, the entrance to the parking garage is on the right. From the north (Bremen/Hamburg): Take the A 1 highway to the Osnabrück Nord exit. Continue straight ahead on the B 68 toward Osnabrück Zentrum (Route: Bramscher Straße, Hansastraße) After passing the Osnabrück town sign, continue straight ahead and, after 2.2 km, turn right toward the signs for “Parkgarage Stadthaus”/B 68 (Route: Hansastraße, Hasetorwall, Natruper-Tor-Wall). After about 500 m, turn right into the “Stadthaus” parking garage (the second entrance after the traffic light intersection). From the east (Hanover) or west (Rheine/Amsterdam), take the A 30 highway to the Hasbergen/Gaste exit. Continue straight toward Osnabrück city center: first on Rheiner Landstraße, which then turns into Lotter Straße at a bend in the road. BY TRAIN
Osnabrück Central Station is connected to Deutsche Bahn’s long-distance, commuter, and regional rail networks. ICE, IC, FLX, RE, and RB trains run regularly. From the main station, we recommend continuing your journey to the hotel by taxi or bus.

Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) is about a 30-minute drive away. Alternatively, you can reach the airport via the shuttle bus service (Line X15) operated by Stadtwerke Osnabrück.

From the central bus station (ZOB) at the main train station, take bus lines 91/92 toward “Hellern” or 81/82 toward Pye. Ride to Neumarkt and transfer there to lines 11/12/13 toward “Eversburg/Büren.” Your stop is: “Rissmüllerplatz” or “Heger Tor.”
